British Columbia Marine Ecosystem and Human Impacts - Pamphlet / Undergraduate Thesis

The westernmost province of Canada, British Columbia, supports a rich biodiverse marine ecosystem along the pacific coast, it is however a popular area for residence and travel with multiple bustling cities and human activities. There are many endangered marine species and aspects of the ecosystem which are at risk due to human impacts. Although there are many efforts to hinder negative human impacts on our environment, there is a local need to spread awareness and educate the public about the species at risk and the impacts we inflict in order to gain stewardship towards the conservation movement. My senior thesis at Soka University of America outlines the creation of an educational tool to spread conservation awareness, specifically about the marine ecosystem of British Columbia and its human impacts, and evaluates scientific illustrations' crucial role in society and the future of environmental conservation.
